Both Pasi and Anna worked in TV / Film before starting Hetta Huskies and since running the husky farm, they have been involved in over 20 films either using the farm as a base or as the subject of their program. A few examples are outlined below.
Knorr Flavour of Home
The short film “Knorr: Flavour of Home”, is is just one of the short films / infomercials that have been successfully shot at the farm. This film was directed by Oscar nominated director Nanette Burstein and tells the story of a mother’s journey across the Arctic to surprise her daughter, Carmen, (one of our guides) with a homemade meal.
Scenes were shot inside our house, in the farmhouse and farm kota, at the guide house, in the kitchens of the local hotel, on local trails and up on the high tundra.
The film won the 'Best Use of Video' category at the M & M Global awards and it was the #2 most shared ad globally the week that it came out in 2015. 13.8 million views were delivered by Unruly across the target markets in the first week although it ended up
generating over 80 million views across all of its sub-titled language versions within the first couple of months.
40% of viewers watched the video again at a later date and 36% spoke about the content offline. Almost 100 sponsored posts were secured across female-targeted blogs, generating 1.19 million social exposures across Twitter and Facebook; 1.31% CTR to the Knorr site.
In other words, although this was quite an intensive film shoot, the final product was considered a major success.
'The Dog Rescuers'
The Dog Rescuers is a very popular Channel 5 documentary in the UK and follows the work of RSPCA officers rescuing animals around the country.
For the 'Christmas Special' (broadcast on Christmas Day) 2015, they wanted a feel-good story and they chose to focus on our farm whilst looking at the positive side of mushing.
The Director was Matt Ralph of Total Wallop Productions and the Soundman was Nick Robertson (also Reiki extraordinaire).
'Visit Finland: 100 Days of Polar Night Magic'
Visit Finland has also used our location on a number of occassions, and Pasi was the expedition coordinator for the whole of the Visit Finland '100 days of Polar Night' campaign, which shot a couple of their 'expeditionary episodes' at our base.
Pasi was also the profiled expedition leader of the entire PR campaign.
Around the time that we started to develop the dog farm, Pasi also worked as the location scouting and property master for the 'Christmas Story' (Joulutarina).
Lapin Kulta Challenge & Lapin Kulta Freeride Camp
Pasi had worked for a number of years as the technical expert of the Lapin Kulta Challenge Films and the Lapin Kulta Freeride Camp Programmes.
SAS Are you tough Enough & The Challenge
Anna has also worked as an AP for the BBC and had been involved in the inaugral 'SAS Are you Tough Enough' Series and 'The Challenge' - a series of programes that looked at human potential through the world of extreme endurance events.
