More About Me:
Yukon and his brother, Quest, came to us from Stefan Falter in the summer of 2017. Quest was described as a 'pony of a dog' - in other words a huge dog. He had spent part of his formative years in a tourist kennel before being returned to Stefan when the kennel closed. Hence, we expected him to arrive a bit less well trained than his brother, Yukon, but both had been doing long 90km training runs at the end of the 2016-17 season. Quest had not competed in as many races as Yukon but he had raced with Tim Zimmermann. Unfortunately when he returned from his safari kennel, he decided that he didn't love running with or being free around his brother any more, although he was OK with other dogs. His mother, Dent, and his father, Scoty, were always racing with Stefan and won the bergebyløpet with him twice as well as having a 2nd place and finishing top 5, 4 times, in the Pasvik Trail Race. His father was with Espen in the Barnas Finnmarkslopet race where we first met Stefan. These dogs are used to wearing booties only when it is colder than -25C and have tough feet and don't bite harnesses or lines. Just in case you bizarrly can't tell me apart from my brother, I am the one with a strong brown / white line down my face.
