FYI: The peak periods fill quickly as soon as we put the dates live. However, feel free to get in touch if we do not seem to have your preferred dates available. We often have additional capacity to that which is shown, particularly from mid-March onwards.
FYI: Most people purchase the all-inclusive 8-day package option since this is the best value for money if purchasing this 5-day safari. You will anyway need accommodation for the night pre- and post-tour and the 8-day package allows you one additional day in location to explore other arctic adventures.
Those booking the all-inclusive 7 or 8-day packages will arrive at the farm on the day prior to the start of the tour (airport shuttles can be arranged). The 7-day package ends on the day after the safari returns to the farm. The optional free day within the 8-day package is normally scheduled at the end of the safari so that people have time to learn more about the adventure options available to them on this day. This is not, however, set in stone.
Those booking ground-only safaris need to arrive at the farm by 10am on the first day and the tour will be over once we have returned to the homestead on Day 5.
* In late March & April we offer 2 departures per week. We generally only make the 2nd departure 'live' once the first is nearly full. However, private groups wishing to pre-book these second slots are welcome to get in touch, directly, even if the dates are not yet marked as 'available'.

We do not schedule many private departures on this tour until later in the season. However, we do release a number of early season slots in December for tours in January and February which are pre-reserved until that time by a number of travel agents. Between March 23rd and April 22nd we have capacity to run additional 3-day tours that may not be on the live schedule. Please enquire directly if the dates currently listed do not work for you.

2-DAY Polar Night SafariIn about 50% of these tours, we offer the overnight accommodation on the farm itself, in our traditional log kota. Many people enjoy the comfort of the kota and the chance to work behind the scenes with the dogs, walking oldies, exercising and playing with pups etc. In the other 50% of these tours, the night is spent in a small trappers cabin in the wilderness.
These tours are essentially run on demand, when we have capacity available. The 2-day tours are also available as 4-day all-inclusive packages, with room and board either side. Enquire directly if we have no tours listed which match your date preferences. We can often squeeze additional 2-day safaris in, particularly late in the season or for larger groups.

WHAT MONTH IS THE BEST TIME FOR ME TO SLED?
The differing degrees of cold, deep snow, trail consolidation and daylight hours will, for sure, have a huge impact on your safari experience.
In order to select the optimal month for your experience, learn more information about the different conditions likely during Early Season Trail Blazing Safaris vs Deep Winter Safaris, and in Early Spring vs Late Spring Tours.
Remember that short tours in November and mid-and long-length day tours and overnight tours in December, as well as multiday tours in January, are all considered early winter Trail-Blazing Tours. Tours in February are considered Polar-Winter Tours (cold and relatively short day-length). Tours in March fall into the Early Spring category and can be challenging because of polar storms, winds and fresh snow but the daylength is longer and they are generally warmer. Tours from the end of March through April are in fast Spring conditions with generally crystalised, compacted trails and long sunny evenings with the dogs.
