<p>Tämä tuote luotiin hyödyntääkseen lentoja Enontekiön pieneltä lentokentältä (lyhyt 4 kilometria tarhaltamme) ja tarjoamaan safari vaihtoehdon josta saa enintä seikkailua minimaalilla hässäkällä. Useammat vuodet, nämä lennot ovat olleet torstaisin ja sunnuntaisin mutta valitettavasti emme ikinä tiedä varmasti ennenkuin lentoaikataulu on julkaistu.</p>

<p>Tavallisesti ohjelmamme sisältää a pick-up from the local airport and then a kit allocation so that you are well attired with your arctic gear. If you have arrived early in the day, we will drop you off down-town so that you can explore the nature centre, local shops and cafes etc and we will pick you up along with the rest of the guests welcome briefing and kit check on the evening of the first day as well as a farm tour for those who may arrive in Hetta earlier than with the Enontekiö evening flight. We normally accommodate our guests in a comfortable family-run hotel on the days either side of the mushing journey.</p>

<p>On your first morning here, you will be picked up from your hotel, introduced to the farm and your dogs and shown how to put your team together. You will then head out for your first test ride into the wilderness. This helps us to assess you level of comfort with driving and the variable speed of the teams in case we have to make any last-minute adjustments for different sizes within the group.</p>

<p>During your tour you gradually journey north towards the high tundra plateau as far as the isolated Sami village of Näkkälä before returning back to our base. This is essentially the same tour iterary as that described in our 3-day product and, although a relatively short husky safari, the route takes you through a variety of wilderness landscapes and provides an ideal introduction to arctic mushing.</p>

<p>The  huts we choose depend, in part, on the size of the group and reindeer movements at the time. However, we generally stay in comfortable  log cabins (normally the first night is in the farm log kota). Some of the cabins have traditional wood-burning saunas attached - the perfect way to relax at the end of the day - and others have separate arctic kota buildings in which you can eat.</p>

<p> During the days you will be speeding along forested tracks and crossing open tundra for quite a few hours. Hence, you need to be reasonably fit and comfortable with being outdoors for a large part of the day in winter conditions if you want to take part in this tour.</p>

<p>On the departure morning clients sometimes pop into the farm to feed or say goodbye to their favourite dogs or to watch  a skijoring or lead-dog training demonstration.  However, for those leaving on the Enontekiö flights, there isn't a great deal of time in the morning.  For those catching an alternative evening flight from an airport like Kittila, we are happy to help organise some alternative activities - eg a cultural visit to a local reindeer farm  or some XC skiing or snowshoeing in the National Park for your last day in our area.</p>

<p>We are very flexible in how we work the itinerary for this product and tend to tailor-make the exact specifications of the product to meet the desires of the group.  It is obviously an ideal product for busy executives who want a week's holiday and easy connections from Central Europe. Should you wish, you obviously have the chance to then spend the weekend in the buzzing European Capital of Helsinki before returning to your home base. </p>

<p>Alternatively, why not spend the remainder of the week in our area and explore the wide range of cutural and outdoor activities on offer here during your two free days.</p>

<p>Our 5 day Forests and Fells Programme, including 3 full days of dog-mushing, generally runs from Sundays through Thursdays, from January through April although this can vary depending on our overall bookings. You will receive a more detailed itinerary of the tour as well as other useful preparatory information at the time of booking.</p>

<b>Schedule:</b> This product often runs Sunday - Thursday or Thursday - Monday, also other days are possible depending on availability.<br>

<b>Price:</b> Adults €1430. (€40 single supplement per night if a single room is requested for the last night in the family hotel.) <br>

<p><b>Price includes: </b>  Airport transfers to and from Enontekiö airport, the first 2 nights in a traditional kota on the farm, 1 night in a wilderness cabin, 3 full days of mushing over a distance of c.110km, all meals for the duration of the product and the final night, post-safari, in a family-run hotel in Hetta, Enontekiö.</p>

</p>We sometimes offer a variation of our standard three-day tour with the first night in the farm kota, the second two nights out at wilderness cabins and the final night in a hotel. The price for this variation (which we call the Palojoki Taiga Tour) is €1530.</p>

<p><i>My son and I took part in the five day husky safari..it was tough but one of the great experiences of my life. Owner Parsi and the other guides tried to make it as much five star as possible when you are driving a six dog power sled and staying in basic cabins and having a blizzard one day. The scenery is exceptional, they love the dogs and the dogs love everyone...you have to really love dogs to do this since some of the dogs sleep in the huts at night...but they are warm on a cold night. You also need to be relatively fit and it does get VERY cold. But this is a once in a lifetime thing to do.</i></p>
